What An Honour – Helping The Gathering Place

The Gathering Place, a pillar in our community and a beacon of light for so many in need, serves hundreds of guests daily. By providing much-needed services to those experiencing homelessness, mental illness, addictions, abuse, and financial hardship (such as seniors and low-income families), The Gathering Place is a safe haven where guests can receive food, clothing, shelter, and social support. Above all, The Gathering Place offers a sense of community and compassion to those who need it most, treating all guests with dignity and respect. We at Crossroads Inn & Suites have been closely affiliated with The Gathering Place over the years. This past holiday season, a few of our staff members had the privilege to assist with the serving of the annual Christmas Turkey Dinner, which we also sponsored. Mr. Patrick O’Callaghan, owner of Crossroads Inn & Suites, had the honour of making a $50,000 donation to this fantastic organization to help them continue their efforts in supporting our community. At Crossroads Inn & Suites, we believe in the power of community and understand that above all, the love and support of each other is what matters most. The Gathering Place is a central hub of the community, […]

Snowmageddon 2020

Crossroads Inn & Suites is grateful for the opportunity to work with amazing people across our home province of Newfoundland and Labrador and the visitors that stay with us from Canada and beyond. We value the relationships that have built and are always looking to make our community a better place. That is why we jumped into action in January 2020 when Snowmageddon hit the Avalon region. Snowmageddon was a record-breaking storm that resulted in the city shutting down roadways and declaring a state of emergency. The Newfoundland Herald reported that, at its peak, the storm had caused 15,000 power outages, 100 cm of snow had fallen, and wind gusts of 150 kilometers raced through the Avalon area. Crossroads Inn & Suites is located on the Avalon Peninsula, serving as a key location point for emergency responders who arrived from all over Canada. We were in the center of the storm, and ready to help those who worked day and night to repair roads, power, access emergency healthcare, and essential services. The storm never took a break and crews worked tirelessly around the clock in the hurricane-force winds and bitter cold. The Crossroads Inn & Suites didn’t think twice, knowing […]

$25,000 Donation to Rainbow Riders

At Crossroads Inn & Suites, we are fortunate to work with so many amazing organizations in-and-around Newfoundland & Labrador that focus on making our community a better place to live. We are where we are today because of you, our loyal and supporting customers. One way we want to honour that is by helping organizations like the Rainbow Riders who give back to the community. We were fortunate to be able to donate $25,000 to help further their efforts to support children and adults that have varying physical, emotional, cognitive, or social disabilities. Along with the donation, Crossroads was able to help provide desks for their new office space. Rainbow Riders is a nonprofit organization located in St. John’s and have been operating for over 30 years working with inclusive groups of children and adults that have varying physical, emotional, cognitive, or social disabilities or diagnosis. They offer therapeutic riding and interactions with horses for these groups of individuals. Rainbow Riders have a variety of programs aimed to help so many people, including riding sessions, summer camps, school groups, and more! The work they are doing is so important, and studies have shown that working with horses has helped individuals […]

At Crossroads Inn & Suites, we put our community first, and we are proud to be able to work with so many amazing organizations in and around Newfoundland & Labrador that feel the same way. It is because of the people of the community that supports us that we are where we are today, and we take pride in doing what we can to show how much we appreciate it by supporting those who give back to our community. We are happy to announce that we were able to donate $25,000 to help ensure that nurses and doctors at our community medical facilities have the latest tools, technology, and training they need to do a better job of getting you better.
