As a Calusade Hotel, Crossroads strives to be an integral part of its community, and we work with changemakers and groups whose ideals reflect our own.
The Gathering Place
In 2023, we donated $2 million to help transform the historic Mercy Convent in downtown St. John’s into an emergency shelter and long-term housing. Our contribution anchored an $11 million community project, The Gathering Place. Our CEO, Matthew O’Callaghan, is a board member of The Gathering Place, and the Crossroads Inn & Suites hosts an annual Christmas meal for the organization.
Rainbow Riders
The late Pat O’Callaghan was a lifelong horseman, and it was his love of horses that first drew him to Rainbow Riders. He was moved by the therapeutic impact that riding had on the organization’s participants—children and adults with physical, developmental, and mental health needs—and the family has been a multi-year sponsor ever since.
